Water and Wastewater
Drinking Water & Wastewater Management
Because we believe that a clean, natural environment and good water quality will promote a healthy and happy community.
As a rural community, our drinking water and wastewater systems are not connected to a municipal utility; therefore, it is our responsibility as individuals to operate and maintain our drinking water and wastewater systems.
Since 2010, CBCC has been focusing efforts and providing technical assistance and training to support the Coral Bay residents and the broader USVI to obtain clean, affordable drinking water and properly treat wastewater to minimize impacts on our properties, neighbors and sea life.
By listening to and working with the residents, professionals and government agencies, CBCC has identified questions, needs, challenges, and solutions related to drinking water and wastewater treatment systems. Guidance for Managing Your Home UV Drinking Water Purification System
The research studies and comprehensive water and wastewater plans developed by CBCC have guided our decision-making about large community-wide infrastructure needs and provided practical information to local partner agencies and residents.
CBCC provides drinking water testing support services to assist residents in collecting and transporting their cistern water samples to the only EPA-certified laboratory, Ocean Systems Lab located in St. Thomas.
Information about up-to-date technologies, best practices and recommendations are shared with the community through workshops, one-on-one consultations, brochures/signs, and our website.
Check out our current projects, study results and updated information below.
In early June, CBCC co-hosted two drinking water and wastewater treatment online trainings with our partners the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) and Resources for Communities and People (RCAP Solutions).
