Coral Bay Yacht Club Scholarship Contest

Coral Bay Yacht Club Scholarship Contest
– Deadline April 15th

The Coral Bay Community Council is sharing this important opportunity:

The Coral Bay Yacht Club (CBYC) is committed to the children of St. John; and has raised funds through the annual Flotilla to help students in our community. The Coral Bay Yacht Club is sponsoring a contest for St. John Students and the prizes are four $500 scholarships.

If the winners go to a private school on St. John or homeschool, the $500 will be given to the school in the form of tuition for that student.

If the winning student goes to Julius E. Sprauve School or Eudora Kean, the $500 will be used to purchase supplies requested by the teachers.

CBYC understands that this has been a particularly difficult year for families. The selection of scholarship recipients will be based solely on the entry as described below. No financial information will be sought from the family. Students are asked to write a story, poem, or personal narrative to apply for this scholarship. Young students are asked to draw a picture with captions. Students may choose any topic of interest to them. Sharing a good post-storm experience is especially welcome.
